Sami craft master Anna-Stina Svakko invites us to a meeting with Sami stitches. Through images and stories she inspires us to try them for ourselves. With natural materials such as wool and silk, combined with respect for traditional knowledge, we gather for a nice time together with Sami inspired embroidery. Materials will be available for purchase on site.
Anna-Stina Svakko is duodjimeaštir / Sami craft master working full time with Sami craft, design and art through the company Astu Design in the village Porjus. She has sewn more than 350 traditional Sami garments as well as held lectures and courses through her company. During the past years she has returned to working more artistically.
The event is a collaboration with the craft and design consultant of the Norrbotten Region, and conducted mostly in Swedish.
