During the winter of 2024–2025, parts of a work by Tilde-Ristin Kuoljok is available to experience in Stockholm.
Since the ending of October the piece produced by Kuoljok for the 2024 edition of the Luleå Biennial, commissioned by Verdde, is exhibited at Konstfrämjandet’s national headquarters in Stockholm. Here, the artwork is presented as a part of a temporary take-over of the venue by Konstfrämjandet Norrbotten.
Some might already know that Kuoljok’s piece has been available to experienc in it’s entirety in Stockholm, as part of the exhibition Vuoi ihán at Skansen during September and October. This second Stockholm stop, at Mariatorget in the center of Södermalm, is thus the second chance for Stockholm audiences to experience the work outside of Norrbotten. Installed on one of the inner city’s bustling streets in the national capital, the piece serves as a reminder to people outside of Sápmi of the Sámi people’s situation, experiences and presence in our collective memory, both historically and today.
hálijdibme badjelándas / wishes from the highlands is presented in the large street level window on Swedenborgsgatan 1, as well as across the walls and floors of the office space. All parts of the work can be seen from the outside, but you are welcome to knock on the door and come in for a visit if there are people inside.
