Maria Ragnestam, Director of Konstfrämjandet Norrbotten, introduce Luleåbiennalen that this year connects the Arctic with other continents and communities around the world.

Evelina Rydeker, Head of the Culture board, officially opens the 2024 edition of Luleåbiennalen

Aude Christel Mgba and Bruno Alves de Almeida, Artistic Directors Luleåbiennalen 2024, introduce On the threshold of 1:1 and the ideas behind the exhibition on view at Konsthallen Kulturens hus.

13.30–15.00 – Guided tour of the exhibition with Artistic Directors and participating artists (in English)
Guided tour of the exhibition with the Artistic Directors and the participating artists Gunvor Guttorm from Architecture of Aroha, Mohamed Sleiman Labat and Pekka Niskanen, Eveliina Sarapää and the Sámi Architecture Association, Grandeza Studio, Daniel de Paula and the Umeå Architecture Faculty.

15.00–16.00 – Experience the art
Visitors are invited to walk through the exhibition on their own and continue conversations with the present artist and artistic directors.

In the meantime they are also welcomed to join a tea ceremony.

Hot drinks will be served around the fire!

Anja Örn, Sara Edström och Katt Skarin, Artists and Managers of Galleri Syster, welcomes you to Galleri Syster!

Artist Fadlabi introduces the ideas behind the works unfolding inside and outside of the exhibition space, their connection to ongoing conflicts in Sudan, and the significance of bringing such discussions to Norrbotten. This introduction will be followed by a Q&A with the public.
