LB°24 — Program
WORKSHOP in poster design and expression in the public space. In this workshop, Tobias Barenthin Lindblad will present different ways of expressing oneself, conveying messages through writing and graphic design. The workshop is open for young people in Norrbotten. Here, you will learn the tricks of expressive writing and how to create cool posters, as well as other expressions. No rules, no templates – feel free to get inspired!
Words are equal to power; but how can one spread opinions, feelings and messages within the concrete frames of the sheet? What is the importance of font, layout and design in reaching the viewer? Tobias lectures on street art, graffiti, advertising, urban planning, and the right to public space. He is also specialized in publishing and distribution of books on sub and popular culture. Tobias Barenthin Lindblad is educated at Stockholm University, and has a degree in Ethnology, Media and Communication, and German.
In the workshop, Tobias will present different ways of expressions and being made visible in the public space.
We are especially proud of the collaboration with Fältbiologerna, advocates for greater environmental awareness in society, and a membership organization for young people. Fältbiologerna is Sweden’s largest nature and environment organization for the target group. The association was founded in 1947, and shapes opinions in matters relating to environment, climate and sustainability. Fältbiologerna extends throughout Norrbotten, which is the largest county in terms of land area and includes 14 municipalities. The distances are long, the population density low. The species, however, are many, it says on Fältbiologerna’s website.
Also, the county is undergoing major changes, the industries are growing – what impact does that have on the people who live here and the surrounding nature? The county includes eight national parks, and large parts of the world heritage Laponian area.
A collaboration between the Luleå Biennial, Fältbiologerna and KUBN.
