Walk and talk with walking sticks!

Did you know that there are 320 synonyms for walking in the Sami language? Join us on a philosophical walk to meet spring and summer in Luleå along the 4.3-kilometer trail Hälsans stig. A group of art students at Sunderby Folk High School has created new walking sticks in Slow Art workshops that can be borrowed during the walk. We will start with the artwork Forewalkers by artists Jenni Laiti and Outi Pieski, which consists of 37 walking sticks. During the walk, we will explore questions about borders, origins, our relationship to nature, and the great journey of life. We will first walk in silence, then in conversation in pairs, and then come together for a joint conclusion.

Date: 24 May
Time: 17.00-19.00
Meeting point: Konsthallen Kulturens hus

Bring your walking stick if you like, or borrow one from the art centre! No experience in philosophy is needed, come as you are.

The activity is held by Adam Wallenberg, art educator at Konsthallen Kulturens hus.
