LB°13 — Artists
ARKIVLise Bjørne Linnert (b. 1964, Norway), is an artist based in Norway.
This piece is a performance I repeat in public spaces. I stitch with red thread to create or visualize a small hole in different fences. The performance has a caring, as well as an intrusive quality, as it is gently crafted without permission on private or official properties. Each spot is chosen for a specific reason. Sometimes the reason is connected to the location’s political or historical reference. Other spots are chosen for personal reasons. I document the stitched traces with a photo and a written response. The responses are short observations and stories connected to aspects of being on the inside or the outside. They are personal, political or historical. This red trace has so far been left at 115 locations globally. For the Biennial I will leave a stitched trace in each of the participating cities.
Lise Bjørne Linnert lives and works in Oslo, Norway. When Bjørne Linnert addresses global, political and social issues, her interest lies in highlighting the smallest components. Her process and project based work develops slowly; it often takes years to collect material and build content.
